Lawns Built From the Base Up.

Turf Installation in Research.

Gardenscape installs natural and artificial turf across Research, built from the base up. This is a semi rural pocket of the north east, where large bush blocks set the scene and a lawn often sits as a green clearing among native trees and natural ground. That setting brings dappled shade, hungry tree roots and uneven native soil into the mix, so every Research job starts below the surface with proper preparation, levelling and a base built for the conditions, then the turf goes down.

Below the Surface

The Part You Never See Is the Part That Matters.

Cheap turf jobs fail the same way every time. The old surface gets a quick scrape, turf goes straight on top, and within a season it is patchy, waterlogged or dead. We excavate and level correctly, build the right base, and design drainage that handles a Melbourne downpour. That is why our lawns still look installed day fresh years later.

Natural Turf.

Real grass, chosen for your block. We install Sir Walter Buffalo and other varieties matched to your sun, soil and how the space gets used, then build the base that keeps the lawn healthy for years.

Artificial Turf.

Premium synthetic turf for spaces that need to look sharp year round with zero mowing. Same rule applies: the base and drainage decide whether it stays flat, drains fast and lasts. Ours do.

Turf in Research

A Lawn That Sits in the Bush.

Planned Around Your Block.

Research lawns share their space with the bush. On the large blocks out here a lawn is usually a clearing carved into a native setting, framed by established gums and natural undergrowth, so it has to look at home next to all of that rather than fight it. The native soil sits over heavier subsoil in places and runs unevenly across a sloping bush block, so a lawn here lives or dies on the base beneath it. We rebuild that base to drain properly and feed the grass, choose a variety that copes with the dappled shade thrown by tall trees and the full heat of a Melbourne summer, and lay it level across ground that rarely starts flat. Where a section sits in deep shade under the canopy, or competes with thirsty tree roots that no grass can win against, artificial turf stays flat and green all year with no mowing. The surface goes in to belong on a bush block, not just to look good on day one.
